ILPQC Trauma Informed Care Workshop

Overview

Join ILPQC for an engaging half-day workshop designed for all clinicians, focused on delivering trauma-informed care in perinatal settings.

Presented by Dr. Tracey Vogel, nationally recognized OB anesthesiologist, trained sexual assault counselor, and the creator and Director of the Perinatal Trauma-Informed Care Clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Join ILPQC for an engaging half-day workshop designed for all clinicians, focused on delivering trauma-informed care in perinatal settings. Led by Dr. Vogel, this interactive session will feature:

  • Foundational education on trauma-informed care principles
  • Practical patient communication strategies for clinicians and staff
  • Small-group case exploration and skills-building activities
  • Techniques for managing acute stress responses
  • Simulated patient interactions with trained actors

Participants will have dedicated time for questions, self-care, and reflection.

Who should attend: All Perinatal Providers: nurses, physicians, clinical educators, quality leads, and social workers.

Workshop will include group case exploration, stress response management, communication strategies, and simulated scenarios with professional actors. The perinatal patient risk to traumatic events, and re-traumatization, as well as the provider’s role in prevention and response, will be explored.

Free on-site parking available! Workshop will include breakfast and snacks.

To get to the Endeavor Conference Center – enter through the ACC main entrance, on the west side of campus – take elevator G to the 2nd floor, turn right out of the elevator, pass the Neurology Department and through the frosted glass doors – the conference center is on the right.
