Perinatal Mental Health Initiative

The PMH Initiative will work to improve education on perinatal mental health conditions for clinical staff, patients and families as well as improve screening, treatment and linkage to resources for mental health conditions during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum.

Birth Equity (BE)

In 2021, the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) launched the Birth Equity (BE) initiative. This initiative was selected by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Statewide Quality Council (SQC) and Perinatal Advisory Committee to engage hospital teams in implementing strategies that advance birth equity. Birth equity is defined as the assurance of the conditions for optimal birth outcomes for all people, grounded in a sustained commitment to confronting racial and social inequities.

Promoting Vaginal Birth (PVB)

Working with hospital-based teams, the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) in 2020 launched a statewide obstetric initiative to implement American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health guidelines.
