Our Purpose
What We Do
ILPQC is a statewide network of perinatal clinicians, nurses, hospitals, patients, public health leaders and policymakers that aims to equitably improve outcomes and reduce disparities for mothers and babies across Illinois.
ILPQC works closely with the Illinois Department of Public Health Regionalized Perinatal System, state health agencies, associations, and advocacy groups to improve obstetric and neonatal care to reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality.

Equity and Safe Sleep for Infants (ESSI)
In November 2023, the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) launched a new statewide neonatal quality improvement project, the Equity and Safe Sleep for Infants (ESSI) Initiative.

Promoting Vaginal Birth
Working with hospital-based teams, the Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) in 2020 launched a statewide obstetric initiative to implement American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health guidelines.

Babies Antibiotic Stewardship Improvement Collaborative (BASIC)
Working with hospital-based teams, the Illinois Perinatal Quality Initiative (ILPQC) in 2020 launched a statewide neonatal initiative to implement American Academy of Pediatrics and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

Our Past Work
Since our inception in 2012, we have built partnerships and engaged stakeholders working with the IDPH Regionalized Perinatal System, state health agencies, associations, and advocacy groups to improve obstetric and neonatal care to end maternal and infant mortality.
